PUNEETH RAJKUMAR – A Real HERO among Actors
Puneeth Rajkumar (born Lohith) was born in MADRAS, now CHENNAI, to the matinée idol Late. Rajkumar and Late. Parvathamma Rajkumar on 17th March 1975. He was their fifth and youngest child.
Puneeth Rajkumar was also colloquially known as ‘APPU’, Yuvarathnaa and PowerStar. He was an Indian Actor, television presenter, playback singer, and even a producer who had worked in the KANNADA CINEMA INDUSTRY. He began his career in his childhood and was a lead actor in about 29 films. He won many awards, namely ‘THE NATIONAL FILM AWARD’ for the best child artist for his role of RAMU in the film BETTADA HOOVU. He also won the KARNATAKA STATE AWARD as the best child artist for CHALISUVA MODAGALU and ERADU NAKSHATRAGALU. Puneeth’s first lead role was in 2002 for the movie ‘APPU’. He was popularly known as Appu only after this movie.

He was probably one of the most popular celebrities in the Kannada cinema industry and the highest-paid actor of the Kannada Cinema. He also debuted as a television presenter for the game show KANNADADA KOTYADHIPATI well known as ‘Who will become a Millionaire’ in the year 2012. Puneeth, just like his father, is one of very few actors who excelled in professional singing too. And this was when he started his profession as a playback singer.
Puneeth Rajkumar’s elder brother Shiva Rajkumar is also a professional actor. Puneeth married Ashwini Revanth from Chikamagalur on 1st December 1999. They met through a friend and later love married each other and had two daughters named Vandhitha Rajkumar and Drithi Rajkumar.
Puneeth and his mother Parvathamma were involved in philanthropy at the Shakti Dhama ashram in Mysore and owned the Bengaluru Premier Futsal Team. Rajkumar also contributed to the nation’s fight against COVID-19 by spreading awareness and donating money.
Puneeth was the founder as well as the owner of music label PRK Audio, the label’s channel on YouTube which had up to 1.13 million subscribers as of October 2021.
Puneeth reportedly owns 26 orphanages,45 free schools, 16 old age homes. He also owns a list of Kannada Medium Schools and always emphasizes girl child education. This shows that Puneeth Rajkumar was such a humble personality in his real life. Puneeth is indeed a real Rajkumar. He leaves us with a legacy of humanity.
On 29th October 2021, Popular Actor Puneeth Rajkumar died in Bangalore after being suffered from Cardiac Arrest at the age of 46. This has led to immense shock among his fans and the whole world saying that Appu has left us too soon. Puneeth has donated his eyes’ in accordance with the pledge by his father Late. Rajkumar that he along with his family members would donate their eyes after death. A state funeral was conducted and the Chief Minister of Karnataka and other major leaders paid the last visit to Puneeth’s mortal. Puneeth’s funeral was probably attended by more than two million fans. He was buried at Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bangalore.
Although Puneeth Rajkumar is no more, he will be remembered by all the people for his good soul of humanity and nobility.
